Pyro!
For the longest time I've been wanting to try my hand at pyrography.
The last time I did it was when I was in the 3rd grade and made that little frame for Mother's Day.
This Christmas I gifted myself a very inexpensive wood burning tool and used it on some bamboo pebbles I brought back from trip to Canada.

A Gift for You
Manolo, the boys & I are off to Southern California for a few days tomorrow!
But before we leave for the Holidays I wanted to thank you for being so incredibly generous & kind with me. I made this little watercolor birdie (3.5" x 5") for you and I'm giving it away along with a signed copy of my book "Making An Impression". Please leave a comment on this post to participate & I will randomly select a winner on Christmas Day.
*Update: Comments are now closed.
Reading each of your Christmas messages was a real gift! Thank you so much!
I will announce the winner later today :-)

Back on the Saddle
It's always a little intimidating to start drawing again after a long break. I did a little warm up today on my sketchbook and on some really cute egg shaped Japanese hand made paper cards (3.5" x 2.5") I bought at The Paper Place in Toronto.
I took this photo of Turbo & Daniel this morning and couldn't help thinking of how tiny my puppy was when we first got him.
