Boing!

This cute guy has been visiting me several times a day since we moved here.
Looks like he wants me to invite him in! I just had to add the boings ;-)
I've looked in all my guides to see what kind of birdie he is but I haven't had any luck identifying him. Will you help me?

Great Mail Day!

Something inspired by the forest that I'm currently working on :-)

It was a great mail day! I received some lovely Bookhou wares I bought from my dear friend Arounna. I absolutely LOVE everything! I bought some tea towels, pillow covers and a couple of day bags which I wear every single day.

My very talented friend Jane Farr visited Twinrocker recently and spent the day making paper! She generously sent me a few of the beautiful sheets of paper she made along with some extra goodies that had me smiling from ear to ear & really touched my heart :-) Thank you so much Jane ♥

Rain Forest

Studio

The living room in the house we rented is huge, has the most beautiful views and the only chimney in the house so I set up my studio in the corner. 

Turbo just discovered squirrels and spends hours in the window scanning the oak tress for any type of suspicious movement :-)

Sunset

It has been rainy and overcast since we arrived a week ago, but yesterday we were treated to the most amazing afternoon light that included one of the prettiest sunsets I've seen in a while.

Creating Again

My studio is set up and I'm happy to be playing with my art supplies again :-)

Our Little Piece of Forest

As of yesterday we are the proud owners of this little piece of land with 24 grown oak trees. We hope to start construction before the summer ends. Manolo says we'll be moving in Casa 6 in February 2013! Here's a peak of some of his preliminary sketches of our future house.

Lovely, Dark & Deep

Our surroundings are so lush, green and soft. I'm keeping an eye out for the many woodpeckers that live in this area, but spotting birds with so many leaves on the trees is a bit trickier than in the desert :-)

Morning Light

After a nice long early morning walk with Turbo in the forest I came home to this wonderful morning light breaking through the fog.

I foresee some watercolors later today :-)

Home, for now...

We're almost completely installed in our temporary home & happy to be surrounded by so much green!!! I'm getting reacquainted with all the birds and it feels like we're living in a tree house. We're living next door to our ex Casa #3! 

It's fun having one of Manolo's houses as our neighbor :-)
I spent all of yesterday unpacking and organizing the kitchen and we were able to have a home cooked breakfast this morning!

Procrastination

We're moving tomorrow and I should be packing but instead I'm drawing royal kitties.

These lovely vintage treasures arrived this morning from my lovely friend Sonia.

While I was organizing my studio this morning & packing all my stuff 

I found this beautiful vintage needlepoint kit 

that my dear friend Diana brought me from Canada last year.  

Stitching the birdie was the perfect activity to do while taking a break 

from putting things in boxes.
