i love the carved wooden animals..around 1986 we traveled several times to Oaxaca and met the wonderful wood carver,Manuel Jimenez..i have a collection of about 15 assorted piece of his(with sons) work..looking at them never fails to make me happy.
Pardon me while I mine the depths of your very beautiful blog. I followed a link from my local quilt shop, which was advertising the arrival of your lovely new fabric. Fabulous content. Thank you.
Hermoso.
My sister came home from San Miguel with several pieces that look just like that. I wonder if it's the same artist or just a local style. They make me happy, too.
He looks so delicate... I can see him as your next project or a likeness, eh?
he is realy funny and i'm sure he can scare scorpion!
he's the same colours as your work

As colorful as Mexico. I like Mantis, if they are made of wood ;-) And this is especially nice.
