Porfirio

Porfirio
Porfirio the cat
It was my blog's sixth birthday this month!
I used to paint lots of kitties way back when I started the blog.
As a matter of fact my first post ever was a watercolor
of a cat sailing on a watermelon boat so it's only fitting
to share a new kitty here today.
His name is Porfirio and he belongs to my dear friend Georgina :-)
It's good to be back in the blog after a little break.

Love the cat and his birdie friend.

We really enjoyed using your tags (and Camilla's--thanks for the tip) on our gifts. Among my gifts: 2 books with your work in them: Water Paper Paint and Drawing for Mixed Media Artists and one of Arounna's beautiful pouches! :)

Beautiful, Geninne. It has quite a mosaic tile look to it in the smaller view. I love this.

Congratulations on the six years! I looked back at your older posts, and it is very interesting to see how your painting has developed through the years.

It would be really interesting if you would like to tell us about how and why your style changed - did you take classes, did your life change, or was it simply your love for birds?

Congratulations on six years... that is quite some time and you have accomplished so much. I was briefly looking back through your archives... Specifically at December of each year just to get that 'flip-book' effect of time. Your progress as an artist was inspiring. Your work has come sooo far. Do you ever look back and think about that? What kind of advice would you give now, having made such accomplishments, to new artists or people who want to become artists? I'm just curious. :)

Happy New Year!
