Weathered & Bare

Bare branch
Daniel & I found the most beautiful bare branch on the side of the road yesterday.
We brought it home and found the perfect spot for it.

Hello! I just tripped across your blog. What a lovely place! Your work is beautiful and inspiring, I can't wait to come back again! I loved your hard carved stamp video, my son and I were glued to the screen. Thanks so much for sharing. Of course, the branch is beautiful too...

This looks like a branch from a tumbleweed, the common name for Russian thistle. It's ubiquitous throughout the American southwest, the seeds having been brought by Russian farmers in the 19th century unintentionally mixed with seed for hard red wheat. I've always great affection for tumbleweeds, although they are very prickly to touch.

Your blog is exquisite. Thanks for sharing your art. Hallie

I smiled when I saw the Penguin Classics books in your cabinet.

Since they came out I've been a fan and this year I decided to buy one a month until I get all of them.

You've got great taste (but you knew that already didn't you ;P).
