Plumeria

I went with Manolo to buy some things from a little hardware store near here
yesterday afternoon and there was the most beautiful Red Plumeria tree in bloom
just outside the shop. I brought a couple of buds home and made a quick watercolor sketch with a dark navy background on my new hand●book journal.

What a beautiful collage of photos and painting. I like the dark background of your watercolor. Plumeria are such a gorgeous flower.
these flowers remind me of visiting Hawaii. You must be having hot sunny days. Does it get cold at all there? So pretty and your painting is beautiful.
Aren't these flowers incredibly fragrant? Apparently they are an aphrodisiac as well. HAHA!
the only thing that comes in my mind: stunning!
perfect pictures, fantastic drawing and beautifully put together!
more :)
Love the plumeria, don't think I've seen one in person. Beautiful collage:)
Looks so romantic on that dark background...
They are gorgeous! I'm not a big fan of the dark background, but that's very personal.
Speaking of journals, did you receive the sketchbook yet? I can always make you one with watercolour paper...? ;-)
These flowers are so delicate ... and just along the road ????
YOU made them even more beautiful !
They're beautiful Geninne! I would love to see some more of your nature watercolours!
I love Frangipani (that's the name I am most familiar with for these beauties). Your painting is so gorgeous, always botanically very accurate! You should do a book on botanicals some day!
We call these frangipani, they are gorgeous, love your watercolour, i did my first painting of one of the flowers, my daughter has it in her room,
ohhhhhh plumeria is my all time favorite flower!! I can smell it now!!mmmmm!!
such a beautiful painting and flower
I did an etching of the plumeria a long time ago
I should hunt for it.
So beautiful! I love the journal too! You have inspired me to get out my watercolour paints recently. Thanks for what you share here :)
Beautiful, both the sketch and the flower, the first time i heard the name Plumeria, known here as frangipani, and i must agree the smell makes it a must have....i must try and plant one again..
Lovely : )
the hand●book journal is fantastic!
J'adore
Ah frangipani! Have a red and a yellow frangipani tree here in my yard! They smell heavenly. And your watercolor - one word - INCREDIBLE!
When I first went to live in Sydney, Aus, what struck me most was that so many houses had a frangipani in the front yard- the smell as you walked around was divine! They are just STUNNING flowers.
Fantastic! I live in hawaii and plumerias are abloom everywhere for most of the year. My favorite are the white floppy leaf ones because they have the most intoxicating smell.
Thanks for the link to the journal, now I'm also perusing the dickblick store again!
These are beautiful. I've neither seen nor smelled plumeria before and am delighted to read in the other comments that they smell as lovely as you've made them look.
WOW! GREAT!
What beautiful flowers! I have never heard of a red plumeria tree. Thank you so much for sharing.
blessings,
elizabeyta
oh! la flor que huele a melocotón!!!no sabía cual era su nombre! gracias!
We had an unseasonably cold summer, so my two plumeria trees are a little confused right now. But that's OK since it means they're blooming up a storm still.
these are just lovely.
Beautiful work! Your photos and work always have such a calming influence on me!
Your blog has been such an inspiration to me that I purchased acrylic ink and can not wait to get started! Thanks for your tutorials and sharing.....hugs, Linda
In Brazil this plant is called "Jasmim Manga" or Mango Jasmine. There are three different colors: white, creamy and pink. The fragrance is wonderful!
Your painting is beautiful.
Ana.
Everything's just beautiful on this blog!
