New inspiration wire

I set up a new inspiration wire
in the studio this weekend
and "borrowed" that flat file drawer chest
from Manuel.

I put little notes over these photos
at my Flickr page
where you can get more info on all the prints
I have on my wire.

It's cloudy now and about to rain...

Three little birds

My hands were itching to paint something today,
and these little birds were born.
Watercolor & acrylic ink on paper.
6 x 8 inches

Soccer bird

My 5 year old buddy Mikel is graduating

from pre-school next week, 

so I made him this embroidered linen folder cover

so he can show off all of his work in style

on graduation day :)

He is a big soccer fan.

I did the lettering with my alphabet hand carved stamps

and a white ink pad and embroidered the rest.

And I used natural linen 

and a striped cotton fabric to do the cover.

Juggling blocks

I made three sets of juggling blocks the other night...
one for Israel, one for Daniel, and one for me :)
We're practicing every day and maybe
we'll have our own circus act in the future!
I made them using the pattern
in Denyse Schmidt "Quilts" book,
with linen, cotton fabric
and filled them up with rice.

Rockin'

I recently reconnected after fourteen years

with my best friend from school, 

her name is Ximena and she lives in Chile 

with her beautiful family. 

She's got the sweetest 9 year old 

daughter named Teresa, she loves dogs 

& one of her favorite colors is orange :)

I hope she likes it!

Daniel's gift

Daniel is into making paper models 

of everything these days.

He made me this beautiful little flower pot 

with paper (colored with Sharpies), Elmer's glue 

& his amazing imagination :)

It was raining again so...

I painted a bowl full o'rocks.

The beauty of the acrylic ink
is that it's water resistant.
I use this kind of acrylic ink.

Drawing on rocks

...it's what I like to do on rainy afternoons.

Painted with acrylic ink and a very fine round brush.
