One Man's Trash
On Sunday I picked up a whole bunch of pieces of scrap wood from the trash at the carpenter's station in our construction site and Manolo looked at me like I was crazy but I had big plans for these small discarded blocks. I sanded them, gave one of the faces a layer of white acrylic and now they're my little canvases.
They might become another man's treasure :-)

New Surface
As you've probably noticed I love trying out new things.
This morning I used an aquabord panel instead of my usual watercolor paper
to paint a bird on a cactus. I'm still unsure if I like it as much as I do paper, but I do like that it doesn't need to be framed to be displayed. I bought a whole bunch of panels during our recent visit to the Dick Blick art store in San Diego.

Volcano Visit
One of my favorite things about living in this area
are the stunning views we have of the Xinantécatl volcano.
Well, this Sunday we decided to pay a visit to the dormant volcano's crater
and it was magnificent, otherworldly & inspiring.
The last photo is one I took back in 2007
when there was a nice cover of snow on the volcano.

Pebbles
making as many goodies I can for my shop update next Monday.
These bamboo pebbles with be made into brooches.
The sunsets this time of year are incredibly spectacular. It is such a blessing to be able to stop what I'm doing every afternoon to enjoy this wonderful gift to the eyes & soul.
