La Casa del Vidrio

Manolo, the boys & I went on a little road trip
to San Miguel de Allende this morning and visited La Casa del Vidrio.
It is a beautiful shop on Correo #11 that sells Mexican hand blown glass.
Manolo was looking for a glass vase to turn into a pendant lamp
for our house and he found a perfect chartreuse one!
I brought home one of those HUGE turquoise glass hearts :-)

I cherish my glass heart more than you could think. I look at it each day, specially before I turn off the light for the night.
Very happy M found the right vase, and that you found a gorgeous heart too. What an amazing place indeed. Thank you so much for sharing these photos & moment with us. oxoxo
Oh would you look at those collections, love it totally!!!
Such beautiful photos! San Miguel is on my 'Must See' list. I so hope I can get there someday. Thanks for sharing photos of it whenever you visit!
Gorgeous photos of this glass! I, too, would have taken home a big blown glass heart!
I adore handmade glass....anything! Love all the gorgeous colors in that shop. Your heart is lovely; one of my favorite colors and the light will look lovely in your home...please do show us when it is up.

Ah Mexico - there's NOTHING else like this country. Thanks for sharing your fabulous finds.
I am "green glass" with envy! I adore handmade glass and can't wait to see the chartreuse pendant light. So glad you got a turquoise heart, it's definitely your color...I probably would not have been able to satisfy myself with just one item.
Wish we had a shop like that! Gorgeous!
Beautiful art and photos! Love the colorful glass!
I love those turquoise and green glassware .. the colors are so gorgeous and I bet they just sparkle with sunlight.
What a quaint shop. I love the name too .. spanish, translated to english means House of Glass :)
Wow, nothing like that round here... thanks for letting us come on your road trip! grace
Dear Geninne, your pictures make us feel like buying a plane ticket and fly to Mexico right away. San Miguel seems such an amazing place. Since I started visiting your blog, I put it on my "places to visit one day" list. Thank you for sharing! Abraços
What is it about glass that captures our hearts? Just got back from a trip to Prague where I'd fallen in love with Bohemian glass. Gorgeous.
it's a shame ! it's so far from me ! thank you for all your lovely posts.
I love "glass lamps" too! I live near Venice and love "muran" glass and murrine! :) I hope you will show us the vase turned into a lamp! :D
can't wait to visit san miguel de allende with you again
I think that my favorite thing about glass is how it reflects when the light is shining through it.
Gennine, I wanted to add that I subscribe to your blog. Your blog always inspires and refreshes me. When I feel as though I might be pulled in too many directions, and e-mail from Gennine's always makes me smile. Then I pop over here and you remind me to be myself.

Just came across your blog . . . Oh my gosh I love all these pictures!!!
Que sitio más bonito!!! Y muy inspirador!!!!
I LOVE the glass hearts. I would have bought one too. I just purchased recently 3 large blown glass wall vases in aqua, yellow and royal blue. They remind me of the hearts. All that glass is really fun to see. Thanks.
wonderful pics. now you make me draw something of substance.:)
