The little town of Bernal

Manolo, the boys & I went on a little exploratory trip to the little town of Bernal.

It's only a 40 minute drive from our place and a paradise to photograph.

This was the restaurant where we had some "gorditas rellenas" for lunch.

I'm glad the lady that sold the cactus wasn't there because I would have gone nuts!

The HUGE and gorgeous Peña de Bernal can be seen from all over town.

New Casa

A little peek of our new temporary place where we'll be living until next summer.

Remember this plant? I found one at a local nursery here in Queretaro!
Can't wait to see it bloom.

That bookshelf in the dining room used to be in my son Israel's room filled with toys.

This is the nest I found before moving. It's now housing one of my painted stones.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Melanie from Storey Publishing
on the cover of their Spring 2010 book catalog.

First things first

After two weeks of packing/unpacking boxes, organizing
and living without internet (the horror!) we are now enjoying the new place.
First order of business was to put up the inspiration board in the studio.

Now

I just found that empty nest on the ground on my walk with Turbo this afternoon.
I thought it was quite fitting since what has been our nest
for the past year and a half will be empty soon as well.
I'm taking this empty nest I found with me to fill up the next one we'll be calling home .
That is what my desk looks like right now. Daniel's spelling list, a list of orders I need to ship before we leave, little things that haven't found their way into boxes yet.
Tomorrow is the final stretch of this crazy race. The next time you hear from me will be from Queretaro. I hope I have a working internet connection soon.

Habit

So far, so good :) Some 40 boxes ready...around 80 more to go. whew!

***News: I'll be rejoining Habit during this month.
