Well hello 2010! So nice to see you! :)
Isaiah 43:18-19 (King James Version)
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

I found these beautiful vintage postcards at the Digital Gallery of the
New York Public Library

Oh, I adore the first postcard. How beautiful.

And the scripture is so very fitting; I may have to make that my facebook status.

The brother of my grandma went to NY in 1920 and came back in Italy in 1970. He lived and worked there 50 years in order to help his family ... and died in 1972. I was born in 1973, so I never met him, but last year I found some letters and postcards he wrote. Why do I tell you this story? Because the first postcard in your post reminds me of him (uncle Ettore). Thank you. Cristina

Happy New Year Gennine! There's something amazing, kind of a giddy feeling, seeing personal postcards from so long ago, with each person's unique handwriting. The quote is beautiful too!
