New Inspiration Board
I did some cleaning and reorganizingin the studio over the weekend.
My little chest of drawers is back
from the carpenters shop. Happiness!
The inspiration board looks more winter inspired
than bright and summery don't you think?

I live in Western Oregon, and believe me, we do not see that beautiful color of blue, the oranges or limey greens in winter around here - to me your inspiration board breathes summer with all the seashells and birds - lovely colors!

It's a stunning arrangement, Geninne, but yes, I agree with you, I think it looks more wintry than summery.
What makes it look wintry to me: the cool greyed/pastel colour scheme, the white pine cones, the absence of leafies and florals, and especially that bare twig--that screams "winter".
"Summer" to me throbs with warm hues of lemon, peach, and strawberry in every intensity from water-ice pale to scorching hot, and every green from palest chartreuse to deepest teal, in patterns that are wild and organic, suggesting growth and life, "the force that through the green shoot drives the flower."

Hi there, been reading you blog for about a year, think its really beautiful in its visual and spiritual sense. Just wanted to ask how you made the fabric notice boards? what lies beneath the fabric? am keen to make some for my 4 boys' rooms.
It's the dark teals and the navy and creamy/grey whites that make it look a little more winter-y. But, that is so very lovely. The colors make the wall look like a patchwork.
