We're movin'

This is what my studio looks like today...We sold our house!
With all of the furniture designed by my husband Manolo included.
...we'll start building a new house (and designing new furniture)
next month in the lot next to our house.
We rented a tiny log cabin deep in the woods a few blocks away from here
where we'll be living for the next six months, till our new house is built...
I will document the whole process here on the blog and on my Flickr.
I think it will be fun :o)
We'll be moving in next week.
The studio is coming along real nice,
it still needs a lot of organizing.

I might be missing in action for a couple of weeks
until we have our internet connection up and running.

Thank you for visiting :o)
I'll be back sooner than later with more art to share.

Agapanthus

Agapanthus flower
against a weathered wall
of an hacienda from the 1500s..
Taken today, a few blocks aways from our home.
The beauty of that pink old layered wall
just takes my breath away
every time I walk past it.

Down under...

This is a little experiment.
I'm drawing with a soft No.2 pencil (I usually work with a very hard 6H pencil),
coloring all the different elements with watercolor
and giving the whole drawing a watercolor wash
with the background color (in this case: turquoise mixed with white).
I'm loving that as I apply the background wash it picks up a little of the watercolor
from the different elements and the colors mix up a little.
Did that make any sense?
