New pillows at Urban Outfitters!

My watercolor Birdalope & Snowy Owl are now available
on these beautiful feather filled linen pillows at Urban Outfitters!
I will go check them out in person this week and maybe take some pictures in the shop :)

The big news is...

...that the next time I set up my inspiration board it will be in a new town :)
I took time off to organize our things and get ready to move once again, whew!
We recently sold our beautiful home and we'll be moving to a rented place
while Manolo builds our next house starting January 2010.
We are moving to the outskirts of the beautiful colonial city of Queretaro,
located 160 miles northwest of Mexico City.

I'm really excited to share this new adventure with all of you.
I will probably re-open up my Etsy shop the first week of December
if I have the internet up and running at the new place.
We will be taking a one week vacation at the beach starting tomorrow
and I'll be blogging all about it from our destination.

Adendium Arabicum

I busted out my old Prismacolor pencils today to do a little drawing of a plant featured in an article called "Desert Beauties" in the October issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine. I immediately fell in love with it. I must find out more about this caudiciform and be on the lookout for one to add to my collection.
And maybe make a hand carved stamp too.

October Moon

I am making a series of watercolor paintings based on dioramas at the
American Museum of Natural History for my son Daniel's birthday next month.
Shhh...don't tell him.

I bought an amazing book called: "Windows on Nature:
The Great Habitat Dioramas of the American Museum of Natural History"

It has beautiful photos of the displays and behind the scene stories
of how the artwork for these dioramas were made.

Hand stamped stationery

Here's something fun to make with hand carved stamps...personalized stationary!
Any type of paper will do. I used a really nice speckled banana fiber paper stationery writing set that I got at my local organic produce store and embellished it with my own carved rubber stamps.

Fun & Easy Craft

A nice way to use up all of my scrap paper and discarded prints from my shop.
The beautiful book on my desk is called "The Boy Who Drew Birds" A story of John James Audubon. It was illustrated by the super talented Melissa Sweet.
It is one of my all time favorite illustrated book.

Sewed them together with a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine. Easy peasy.

This little bunting would look great on an inspiration board, don't you think?

*Oh, I almost forgot to tell you...I began filming this video with the camera on my right and noticed after a while that my hand was blocking the action a little so on Parts 2 & 3 I changed the camera to my left hand side and it was much better.
