The After
The beautiful cactus painting in the back of my nature collection is by the very lovely and talented Tiel Seivl-Keevers.

Flower Mural
I painted a freehand black & white mural in our bedroom
inspired by this awesome wallpaper.
My original plan was to fill the whole wall
but I ended up liking how it looks above the headboard.
It's like sleeping in a garden.

Gourd
A few weeks ago while Margie & Arounna were here we visited a tiny market in a nearby town called Villa de Progreso were I found a vendor that had a basket of gourds for sale. The shape of this one really caught my eye. I painted a triangle pattern a la Bookhou with black acrylic ink inspired by this beautifully decorated dwelling from the village of Tiébélé, located in Burkina Faso. Photo by Rita Willaert via Poppytalk.
*The amazing wood chair in the first photo is Manolo's design :-)

Tie-Dye Top
I copied the pattern from a really cute cotton top I bought in San Miguel during Margie & Arounna's visit but cut it out of beige linen and tie-dyed it in a warm chocolate brown color. After I finished it this morning I decided to add some stitched details
with turquoise and red embroidery floss.
Remember this linen tunic I made last year?

Alegria!

A BIG box with fabric from my Cloud 9 Fabrics Alegria collection arrived yesterday!
I immediately made new pillowcases for our bed using the Walkabout fabric.
I over-dyed the fabric to match my old green quilt from CB2.
It was wonderful to translate my watercolor images onto fabric
but what I had most fun with was designing the selvedge info :-)
Working with Michelle on this collection was an honor & real treat!
