Hello! I'm blogging today all the way from my dad's place in Ocala, FL.
This letterpress tray is where he keeps his little treasures
including the pink duck safety pin that used to hold my cloth diapers! :-)

oh the stories I bet he could tell with each item. I about jumped out of my chair when I saw the diaper pin. I have one just like it from my diapers. This is sweet.
Oh, be still my heart. Beautiful. My father passed away recently, and he had so many things, that probably at the time had seemed insignificant, but coming across them in his house, it was like unearthing tiny treasures, completely priceless. It took my breath away when I found, in the very back of a closet, an old chalkboard I'd had as a little girl, that still had my drawings on it. He kept it like that, in that closet, for decades, and I never knew.
I hope you enjoy your stay in Florida. :) We live maybe 20-30 minutes outside of Ocala.
Yes, I spotted it! That is an amazing collection and displayed beautifully. It must make visitors want to stop and examine it all closely.

I love your father's printer's tray with all of his treasures,especially your diaper pin, we've kept one for years with various treasures from childhood, travels and everyday life. I've never photographed it...now I might have to. Thanks for the idea.

Wow - this would make a beautiful watercolour. :) I just visited my dad in Florida and we have an letterpress filled with beach treasures - this one is amazing!!!!
"For where your treasure is, your heart will be also." So neat to see inside someone's heart...when my dad died a few years back, my mom handed me every card and letter I had written him since college...it made me so glad I had taken the time to send them and was a great trip down memory lane.
I would love to have a puzzle of your fathers keep sakes in 1000 pieces or more.

funny, i had exactly the same safety pins when i was baby, pink and yellow ones, and i live so far away. i used them for my sons diapers, too.

For some reason, the little diaper pin was the first thing that caught my eye. I'll be revealing my age if I tell you I used them on my children. Lots of memories there!

I have the same pink duckie diaper pin! How fun to know someone else has a saved one. I showed it to a friend some time back and she marveled at the concept of cloth diapers. But, then, she also thought my black-and-white baby pix were "so retro!" ....ooh, feelin' old now!
I also spot a swiss ski pin(first tray) that your father must have received after succeeding the ''bronze test''.

I was deeply touched when reading this post. My father and I lost contact twenty years ago. Just before Christmas I got a call from one of my cousins telling me that my father past away. When going true his belongings I found a lot of things and photos from my childhood. He kept it all. Things I made for him, letters I wrote and photos. The first ten years of my childhood my father and me was a real team, but after divorcing my mother he begun drinking heavily. The alcohol destroyed his once great and loving personality and I lost him.
My father was an artist just like yours.
Your Father's trays are beautiful! I turned some printer's trays into a coffee table for Mum and Dad, with a removable glass topping, and they have a lovely collection of family and historical treasures, and little curios. X
