This is the beautiful hand bound leather Bible Manolo made for me. I mentioned it on the Etsy interview as my most cherished handmade possession & I wanted to share it with all of you.
And a little peek into the drawers of my cabinet of curiosities ;)
I finally have one special drawer for all of my hand carved stamps!
That is one gorgeous Bible. Mine is so torn up and falling apart! I made a "temporary" cover out of canvas and it...sort of works! :) But I hate to totally replace my old Bible with a new one...seems as if when I use my new one...I can't find ANYTHING in there!
Eres tan ordenada...
Hi there. You have a great blog going here. It's very inspiring. Can i ask you what you carve your homemade stamps from, I'd love to have a go myself? Justine, London, UK.
What a beautiful Bible, made with a lot of love and care. Wow your drawers are so amazingly organized! I have plastic storage boxes...someday I’ll have drawers to call my own, until then I’ll just live vicariously through your blog (lol)!
thanks for letting us peek into all of those fabulous drawers...total eye candy!! and your Bible is absolutely beautiful! i'm a bookbinder and i understand the work that goes into such a treasure...i can certainly see all of the love that went into this one. :)
I can't believe I found this post today...you are SO linked. I just dusted off my linoleum block printing supplies to make an Easter card...I've never used them before and have always wanted to. I really like your kid-friendly versions. Your collection looks lovely all in that little drawer!
That is incredible. My Mom had one in that exact color of leather... with teensy, tiny, neatly (might by the tinest handwriting I've ever seen?) written notes and thoughts in the margins... I've never seen another in that cover style since now!
Your photos are always so bright and beautiful. I wonder what type of camera you use and if you use special lighting? I am impressed with Manolo, furniture designer and book binder. You two are quite the creative pair. Did you meet in art school?
What a beautiful, heirloom your gifted husband has created! And best of all it is the greatest book ever written, love bound with love. Thanks for sharing, Fj
The Bible is beautiful, but I am SOOO envious of your drawer of goodies. I wish that I could stop by your studio, commandeer your stamps, and make wonderful art with all of your beautiful designs. Your drawers are evidence of time well spent. Thank you for the inspiration!
That is one of the most beautiful and useful gifts I have ever seen. Handmade, wow. I treasure the one my husband gave me on our wedding day. It had my new name engraved on it.
I love your organizing cabinet! Just beautiful and so are the stamps! Great idea. I am gonna have to keep my eyes open for something like that for all our stamps and art supplies :)
I have been away from my usual blog visits for months.......the Bible - it seemed like the post (of all that I'm catching up on) to comment on. What a beautiful thing to make for someone you love. ...it really grabbed my eye. Thanks for sharing that. You are definitely a Proverbs 31 wife and mother.....wow.
