Cousins

I made my birdie
a little embroidered felt cousin.
But I think I will have to make him
a linen girlfriend to keep him company
once he moves into his cage.

Los Mushrooms

Watercolor & Acrylic Ink on Paper

Inspired by those beautiful
old botanical prints.

Little Birdie

I ended up doing an entirely different
birdie for my old rusty cage.

This one was made with linen & a piece
of Tana Lawn Liberty print,
stuffed with polyfill.

I painted the birdie with fabric paint
using my watercolor round brushes.
I used two different greens
& white for the details.

& made him a little polymer clay beak.

All I need to do now is figure out a way
to secure him to the perch of the cage.
I'll show you when he's living in his new home.

Note:
For those of you who asked,
the fabric paint I used is called
Pebeo Setacolor

Pomegranate

Just a little ink drawing I made
that I colored digitally.

Bugs

These cute bugs were made for a production company
called Curious Pictures, they hired me to do
visual development for a kids television show.
And although they were not selected,
I had so much fun creating
these little characters.

Thankful

It was a lovely rainy afternoon yesterday

that I spent looking through the gorgeous pages

of a spectacular book about the flora and fauna
of the tamaulipecan region of Mexico.

A birthday gift
from my beautiful & dear friend Ana.
It's called: "La Gran Provincia Natural Tamaulipeca"
