New stamps
Every once in a whilewhen I need a break from drawing...
I turn to carving :)
I bought those beautiful
vintage postcards from
Digital Collage Sheets
as a digital download,
printed and cut them at home
to be used in future collages.
Labels: Handcarved

I love them; especially the color you used.
those are gorgeous!
Yes; gorgeous in their simplicity. And I always like the colours you use.
you do an amazing job carving the stamps....wow....they are beautiful.
Hi Geninne -
Even though you make me feel like a lazy bum, I love to see your new works and how you combine things.

Ooh! I love these - I may try some ferns myself. I, too, love the color of green you used and your palette for much of your work in general. :> Happy Valentines Day.
Love the new carvings, Geninne! Isn't is so relaxing?
Hey Geninne, do you mind me asking what kind of ink you use? You always have such excellent coverage.
I love your new stamps. So pretty!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments, I really appreciate them :)
Regina, I used an Anna Griffin brand green ink pad for this that I picked up at a Michael's or Joann's...I can't remember. But I have a bunch of other ink pads that work really well too, like StazOn and VersaColor. The key is to leave the stamp on the table face up and ink it from the top with the ink pad face down to get a real even coverage.
ooh, these are great! i, too, love carving stamps-- it's sort-of meditative. you don't have to think much about it, but it's so satisfying!
I am blown away. You carve your own stamps? I LOVE the little fern stamp. I love all of them but that especially.
Do you carve them for other people at all? I'm in NZ myself (hence the love of fern) will peruse your site very carfully and try and get in touch.
You are very clever indeed.

These are stunning stamps. I can't believe you carved them yourself. Just discovered your work on ETSY and will have to add you to my blog inspiration page! Your work is lovely!!
As you know Genine, I'll be trying to carve my own stamps now. Have found some wonderful fern stencils on-line at scrappingdownunder. Unfortunately she doesn't have a shop - is only three hours drive away, and very willing to help out with ordering anything I need - like ink - stamp pads - tools.
Meanwhile back to practicing on potatoes!

Wow! I love your stamps. Are these carved from linoleum? what is the material?
I just found your Nov. post with the carving info. So cool, can't wait to try some carving. Thanks!
